Following the posting of the previous item on controversial or shocking signs, I received an email from a reader who had worked in a large printing company in South Africa. Here are two excerpts from that email that further demonstrate the issues that can arise when accepting “controversial” jobs:

“We once took on Hustler magazine in SA. The ladies were disgusted. The sales team were thrilled with a massive boost in print revenue. The production staff stole 25% of the print order. So, we lost the contract.”

“We also printed the center page spreads for Playboy SA. We added 30% overs onto the run to take potential “stock shrinkage” into account”

There’s nothing like real-life examples to make a point.
