I recently came across this list of The 8 KEEPS of small business while searching through some old files. There’s no mention of the source so, unfortunately, I’m unable to credit the the originator.
It’s not just good advice for someone starting out, it’s also a good reminder even if you’ve been running your own shop for a long time. I don’t need to add anything to this self-explanatory, brief but excellent advice:
- KEEP it simple.
- KEEP a lid on costs.
- KEEP it only if it’s profitable.
- KEEP working on your business.
- KEEP researching.
- KEEP a notebook.
- KEEP it at work.
- KEEP it fun.
