We’re in the middle of winter in Canada again and it’s therefore a good time for a reminder that it could mean shipping problems. I was reminded of this when I saw a recent report that Highway 3 to Yellowknife had closed down, probably due to a blizzard or some other winter-weather condition. I recall a truck once breaking down on that same highway and we ended up with a pallet load of frozen emulsion. And, as you might know, emulsion can’t be recovered once it has frozen.

The point here is that if you’re about to order supplies for your sign shop, there a few things you should keep in mind. Vinyl and ink deliveries for your Roland are okay to ship even when it gets really, even down around minus 35 Celsius. But, most importantly, these items have to be brought up to room temperature before you use them.

If you’re concerned about any aspect of winter shipping, raise it with Stanley’s when you place the order: Cambridge – 1 877 205 9218; Calgary – 1 877 661 1553; Edmonton – 1 888 424 7446; Richmond – 604 873 2451
